Ethics for Coaching (EFC) is searching for passionate coaching industry advocates with a serious interest in making the coaching industry safer for coaches and clients. We’re looking to expand our steering committee with a number of volunteer leadership positions who will head up various committees to help EFC achieve its mission.

These positions are 100% volunteer and they do require someone who has the time and energy to actively commit to making the coaching industry a safer place.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Role Summary:

    The Volunteer Coordinator will lead efforts to manage our volunteer program, ensuring the smooth recruitment and onboarding of new volunteers, and nurturing an inclusive and collaborative volunteer community. They will work closely with the organization’s steering and communications committees to develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention. They are encouraged to recruit a team of volunteers to help accomplish these objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding:

    • Develop and collaborate with the communications committee to execute recruitment strategies to attract skilled, motivated, and values-aligned volunteers.

    • Collaborate with team leadership to define volunteer roles and responsibilities.

    • Develop and implement an onboarding process for new volunteers, including orientation materials and training resources.

    Documentation and Compliance:

    • Create and maintain a database of potential volunteers.

    • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information and contributions.

    • Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and standards

    Volunteer Engagement and Support:

    • Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new volunteers with the organization's mission, values, expectations, and code of ethics.

    • Build and nurture relationships with volunteers, providing ongoing support, training, and recognition.

    • Organize regular meetings or workshops to facilitate volunteer development and collaboration.

    Qualifications:

    • A passion for community engagement and organization.

    • Experience in volunteer coordination, HR, or community engagement is a plus, but not required.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Knowledge of the coaching industry or a strong interest in ethics and professional standards is a plus, but not required.

  • Role Summary:

    The Volunteer Communications Coordinator is a team leader who will play a pivotal role in directing our marketing and communications efforts. This individual will be responsible for shaping and maintaining our digital presence, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging across all channels, and building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, they will be the point person for PR, including crisis and reputation management initiatives. They are encouraged to work with the volunteer coordinator to recruit and lead a team of volunteers to help them accomplish these objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Website Management:

    • Oversee the organization's website content, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with the organization's branding.

    • Collaborate with content creators to develop and publish engaging blog posts.

    Social Media Strategy:

    • Develop and execute a social media strategy that aligns with organizational goals.

    • Create, schedule, and post content on social media platforms with a consistent brand voice.

    • Monitor and engage with the community on social media channels.

    Email Communications:

    • Plan and send regular email newsletters to keep stakeholders informed about organization news, events, and initiatives.

    Public Relations:

    • Handle media inquiries and manage public relations efforts by implementing and maintaining best-practices in messaging. Advise on topics related to media engagement and crisis management.

    Brand Voice and Messaging:

    • Maintain and evolve EFC’s brand voice, tone, and messaging to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational values.

    • Develop and enforce brand guidelines for all communication materials.

    Stakeholder Relations:

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, volunteers, partners, and supporters.

    • Collaborate with other teams to gather impactful stories that showcase our work.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    • Experience in marketing, communications, or public relations is a plus.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Familiarity in website content management systems and social media platforms.

    • Knowledge of crisis management and PR.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

    • Passion for the coaching industry and a commitment to our organization's mission and values.

  • Role Summary:

    The Volunteer Consumer Education Coordinator is passionate about raising awareness among the public about life and business coaching scams. This role involves leading a team of volunteers to develop and implement educational initiatives, seminars, and resources to educate and empower consumers with knowledge about identifying red flags, understanding their legal rights, and accessing legal resources. They are encouraged to work with the volunteer coordinator to recruit and lead a team of volunteers to help them accomplish these objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Consumer Education Initiatives:

    • Work with consultants to create or compile materials to educate the public about coaching scams, red flags, and potential risks.

    • Organize consumer rights seminar speakers or workshop leaders to educate the public regarding their legal rights in the context of coaching services and collaborate with the communications committee to promote it.

    Legal Resources Education:

    • Establish connections with legal professionals to provide support to affected consumers.

    • Facilitate access to legal resources for consumers who have been victims of coaching scams.

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for consumer education and advocacy.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Understanding of consumer protection laws and regulations is a plus.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Role Summary:

    The Volunteer Coaching Education and Training Coordinator will play a leadership role in advancing coaching industry standards and awareness. This position involves developing and overseeing a coaching audits program, developing educational resources for coaches on: best practices; promoting safe, ethical, and trauma-informed approaches; and ensuring legal compliance; and organizing an educational seminar series for coaches. They are encouraged to work with the volunteer coordinator to recruit and lead a team of volunteers to help them accomplish these objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Audits Management:

    • Work with the steering committee to develop, manage and implement the coaching audits process to assess and improve coaching practices.

    • Collaborate with a team of volunteers to conduct audits and provide feedback to coaches.

    Coaching Education:

    • Work with consultants to develop educational programs to coaches to improve their practices, including ethical standards, scope of service, and professionalism.

    • Work with consultants to educate coaches on safe and trauma-informed practices.

    Legal Obligations:

    • Work with consultants to provide guidance and resources to ensure coaches’ compliance with legal obligations.

    • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations impacting the coaching industry and collaborate with the communications committee to keep the website updated and distribute information via the newsletter.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Lead the implementation of ongoing audits to maintain coaching standards of ethical practice.

    • Bonus: Monitor and assess effectiveness of audits process.

    Business Coaching Seminar Series:

    • Organize and implement a seminar series focused on business coaching, featuring expert speakers and relevant topics.

    • Coordinate logistics and work with the communications committee to promote the series to the coaching community.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong passion for coaching education and raising industry standards.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Leadership and team coordination abilities are a plus.

    • Familiarity with coaching practices, ethics, and legal aspects.

    • Ability to create and deliver educational programs effectively.

    • Commitment to EFC’s mission in the coaching industry.
